HOW IT AFFECTS OUR BUSINESS

C.A.S.L. targets any electronic communication that could be considered to "encourage participation in a commercial activity." Any email, text message, instant message (IM) and messages sent through social networks that have a commercial aspect will be considered to be a Commercial Electronic Message (CEM), and will require express or implied consent. Summary

In short, C.A.S.L. is two laws that are enforced by two or more different agencies. There will be a lot of issues to work out in the courts. However, I will be doing my best to understand and comply with the C.A.S.L. as best I can! I look forward to having my "Implied" contacts for personal or business to all who become "Express Consent or Opt In Contacts"
The Deadline is July 1st, 2017 for any Implied consent can be turned into express consent through request. Once express consent is given, it never expires unless the person who gives it unsubscribes.

Update 2019

As result of creating my video. I realized this needed to be updated.

Here are some of the changes and now requirements for C.A.S.L.

  • You must state who you are.
  • How you can be contacted
  • Where you are, meaning your address
  • And of course a legitimate unsubscribe option that you adhere to.
